Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh a noted institute offering courses in medical sciences and allied branches. The institute had started its operation from 1962.

It is an autonomous institute under the Act of the Parliament of India in 1967 and has been granted the status of Deemed University. The institute awards its own degree to the students.
